IT'S A GIRL

I am back to the blogging world after a hiatus. It took forever to get our internet working. I have not really blogged, esp about Baby A, since I was 13 weeks.  Today marks 22 weeks and everything is still going well!  We found out on February 5 that we are having a little girl! We are both so excited!  Ava Kathryn will be here before we know it!!

Legs over her head!

Sweet profile pic! I think she has my nose!

Once again, her legs are kicked over her head! Looks like we have a gymnast on our hands! (Let's just hope she's a better one than her mom! )

We have been busy getting settled into our new house but mainly we've been decorating the nursery. It is so much fun to pick out everything for Ava's room, Her crib and bedding have been here for a few weeks and now we are waiting on her changing table and corner shelf that I ordered. I think we have also narrowed down paint colors. I swore I would never do an over the top girly room since I am not over the top girly, well looks like I am eating my words!! Think lots of pink and green!!! It is going to be beautiful! I will post pics once its all finished!

It's hard to believe that I have already made it to the 5 1/2 month mark! I still love most things about pregnancy. My growing belly is making it harder to move around and I spend most of the night taking potty breaks but I know it's all worth it! Josh thinks it's funny the way I plop out of bed now!  Speaking of Josh, he is over the moon about having a little girl! He told me after we found out that he's wanted a little girl from the beginning! We both cannot wait to spoil her rotten! : )

Ava's 22 Week Progress

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, Ava is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment.

If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

At our last visit (20 weeks), Ava weighed 11 ounces. The Dr. said that her head is in the 78% and the rest of her body is in the 50-60%. I just pray she has her daddy's brains!

That's all I have for now! We are headed back to the doctor next Monday. We hope to have our 3D/4D ultrasound done around 28 weeks.  Now that we have internet, I will do my best to blog more often so my friends and family can stay posted on Ava Kathryn's progress!
