Sealed the Deal/13 Weeks

Merry Christmas to us! We are proud new homeowners!! All went well today with the closing and as of 10 AM we own our first home! We are ecstatic! I am off until Christmas day, so we will try to move everything but the furniture over the next 2 days. Next Monday, the movers will come to pack up the furniture. By the time I get back from Germantown, we should be completely moved in. I took some more pics of the house today.

We cannot wait to be settled in to our new house. February will be here before we know it and it will be time to decorate Baby A's nursery!  On that note, I have a couple 13 week pics.

Baby A is growing and so is my belly!

Baby A's  13 week progress report:

Fingerprints have formed on Baby A's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If Baby A is a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Baby A is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Boy or Girl...what will it be???

Movin' On Up

Josh and I received wonderful news yesterday...we will close on our first home next Thursday, December 22. We are thrilled! Everything seems to be falling into place perfectly! We have been blessed with so many great things this year are are very thankful! We will start moving in December 23 and 24. I am going to Germantown for a few days Christmas night but Josh isn't going to be able to make it this year due to work. So, Josh and some of our good buddies will do most of the moving before I get back in town!  Here is a pic of the outside of our home. I will post more soon!

12 Weeks, 3 Days

Baby A
12 weeks, 3 days
Heart rate 161

 Sucking his/her thumb

Not a great pic, but the only other decent one we were able to get.

Monday, December 12, marked 12 weeks in my pregnancy! I can't believe it's already been 3 months! I had my 12 week appointment today. Let's just say that Baby A seems to be a little lazy. It never fails, at every ultrasound, Baby A just lays there. The ultrasound tech had to bounce the probe around on my belly in order to get some decent shots. From what we saw today, it looks like Baby A is already a thumb sucker! He/she did some rolling around for us, waved, sucked his/her thumb and moved his/her mouth around a bit. I can't believe that Baby A is only 2 inches.

I was hoping we'd get some great shots of Baby A today, since it will be 8 weeks before we see him/her again! I am really sad we have to wait that long. I have been spoiled the first 12 weeks by being able to see Baby A three times. I have a 16 week appointment January 12 so it looks like we will find out the sex of Baby A the week of my 28th birthday! I can't think of a better birthday gift!  I don't want to wish my pregnancy away but I am so ready to know if we are having a boy or girl so I can start decorating the nursery!

My gut instinct on our first ultrasound was that Baby A was a boy but now I am not so sure. The more we go to the doctor and see the ultrasound and heart rate, the more I think we might be having a girl! As I've mentioned before, as long as Baby A is healthy, we are happy!  My sister finds out the sex of her baby on Monday, so that will be exciting!

Baby A's progress this week:

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Baby A's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, Baby A will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in Baby A's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, Baby A is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

"The Bump"
Week 12

Baby A didn't grow a whole lot over the last 2 weeks. I've gained 1.8 pounds so far, even though I feel like I'm bigger. I think the weight just redistributes to different places. As you can see in the pics, I am starting to get a little bump!

Here is what I have to look forward to...

Josh and I were in Nashville this past weekend and decided to do some shopping. We went to a Pea in the Pod and they had this "bump" I put on to try on maternity jeans. It felt strange but also kind of neat to think my belly will be this big. The more I moved around and bent down, the more it got in my way! So for now, I guess I should enjoy the small bump while it lasts!

"The Bump"

That's all until next time!!

11 Weeks

10 Weeks, 2 Days
Heart rate 167
10 cm

Baby A is growing...This past week I had another Dr. appointment. At first, Dr. Moffatt could not doppler the heart beat. Josh was worried, but I knew that I just heard Baby A's heartbeat a couple days before. We were able to get another ultrasound and Baby A was just laying there on his/her back. Not much movement going on in there but a really strong heartbeat! We finally found a position where we could see a profile shot of Baby A. In 3 weeks, baby A has grown 4.6cm. I have a feeling we are going to have a big baby!

I go back to the dcotor next week, for my 12 week appointment, and that will be the last ultrasound until we find out if Baby A is a boy or girl! I think we will find out the week of my birthday which will be the perfect birthday gift! I still think it's a little boy but a lot of people I work with are convinced Baby A is a girl. It's still hard to believe we're having a baby but my expanding waistline reminds me that there is a little one in there.

I haven't really had any particular cravings other than wanting to eat everything in sight.  I've been pretty bad lately but I told Josh I have to stop. I had Jimmy John's 3 times last week. : ) It sure was yummy!  If Baby A is anything like Josh and me, he/she will come out with a big appetite!

Let's check out Baby A's progress:

Baby A is just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. His/her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under his/her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
Baby A is already busy kicking and stretching, and his/her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that his/her diaphragm is forming.

I'm starting to get some of my energy back but I still find myself taking advantage of extra sleep! I know those days will soon be coming to an end! Until that time comes, I will enjoy the rest while I can! I know the lack of sleep will be worth it!
